TESTIMONIALS

"Greta’s presentations at Wildwood were informative as well as sensitive and age appropriate on a difficult and sometimes confusing issue for adolescents. The presentations were interactive; students were comfortable asking numerous questions and these questions were clearly addressed by Greta and her team. I would highly recommend Greta Angert as a speaker to schools and other organizations working with young people."

Phyllis Gabriel

"We bring Greta Angert in every year to speak to our students on eating disorders, an important topic amongst young teens today. She discusses the signs and symptoms and potential long term effects of an eating disorder. Greta offers guidance and support about how to help a friend who students suspect might be in danger. Greta’s team also includes a dietitian who uses an interactive approach to present on healthy eating and the dangers of dieting. On a separate day, we like to have Greta meet confidentially with girls only to discuss their feelings, concerns and experiences with eating issues. She gives the girls the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topic in intimate groups, where they feel safe and comfortable. Her expertise and true concern are deeply evident in her presentation of the material."

"It’s not easy to be a teenager in a media-centered world, but growing up in an image conscious city like Los Angeles can pose particular challenges for young people.  To help our parents understand the complexities of body image issues, we invite Greta Angert to facilitate a parent workshop at New LA Charter each year. Our school serves a diverse population of parents and students, and Greta’s presentations are tailored to meet the needs of our specific school community.  Greta’s talk is packed with important, science-based information that is relevant to the middle childhood years, while her facilitative style is welcoming and comfortable. Parents leave her workshops with a fundamental awareness of eating disorders and the tools to help their children develop healthy attitudes about food and their bodies. I highly recommend Greta as an expert in the area of eating disorders, and as a mental health professional who is able to empower her audience with knowledge, compassion, and understanding."

"I want to express my most sincere and heartfelt thanks for what you’ve helped our daughter to accomplish, and also the support and reassuring words you provided to all of us at the most difficult times of this journey. Checking a beloved child into the hospital to treat a mental illness is one of the most difficult things a parent can do. Although we knew it was the right thing to do, it was a hard decision to accept and the fear of the unknown was overwhelming at times. Your reassuring words at that time, to our daughter and to us, were particularly helpful to all of us in being able to see a light at the end of this dark and unknown tunnel.

I can still remember vividly you telling our daughter that this was going to be her first and only time that she would be in a hospital like this, that she was going to get better and that you and her family were going to help her make it through and beat her eating disorder. Those words were important for our daughter to hear, and for us as parents to believe. You told her (and us) that she would get better.

Thank you for all that you’ve accomplished with our daughter and for all of the support you provided to us during this difficult journey. We could not be more pleased with how far our daughter has come, and we are truly blessed to have had you in her support circle leading the way."
